Michael Ignatieff @ Writersfest
Over 800 people swarmed around St Brigids community centre in the Byward Market. At the Ottawa International Writers Festival, the leader of the official opposition was there to read from his recent book. He read an excerpt from the book True Patriot Love, had a discussion with CBC Radio host Adriene Harewood and signed copies of his book. This converted church was brimming with enthusiasm. As someone who has been a professional writer Iggy (as he is often called) is articulate. Currently ahead of Steven Harper in public opinion polls, Iggy is very likely to become the next Prime Minister of Canada. The Ottawa International Book Festival continues to constantly delight and amaze me. The current stream of the book festival continues until May 2nd 2009.
